Creatives: Be Like Ferris Bueller On Your Day Off….

--

A day off as a teaching artist — is a day to invest in yourself. You can’t feed the next generation if you fail to feed yourself; lucky for me, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off was my Flashback Friday inspiration of the week, it provided some timeless tips:

Tip #1.Be Present

Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. — Ferris Bueller

Tip #2. Take the lead in your life and back it up.

I am not going to sit on my ass as the events that effect me unfold to determine the course of my life. I’m going to take a stand. I’m going to defend it. Right or wrong, I’m going to defend it. — Cameron

Tip #3. Believe in yourself more than anything else.

Not that I condone fascism, or any ism for that matter. Isms in my opinion are not good. A person should not believe in an ism, he should believe in himself. I quote John Lennon, “I don’t believe in Beatles, I just believe in me.” Good point there. After all, he was the walrus. I could be the walrus. I’d still have to bum rides off people. — Ferris Bueller.

Creatives never forget to take a creative approach to life!
